We want to inform you of the updated Florida Wind Mitigation Form requirement for OIR-B1-1802 (Rev. 04/26), which reflects modern construction standards and updated risk modeling.

The new form (Rev. 04/26) is required when:

• A wind mitigation inspection is completed on or after April 1, 2026

• The inspection was completed prior to April 1, 2026, and
• The inspection date is within five years of the policy effective date

• PTI policies with existing wind mitigation credits do not require a new wind mitigation inspection at this time to maintain those credits
• Inspection forms may be in the name of a prior owner

• More precise roof covering details
• Updated roof deck attachment standards
• Stronger definitions for roof-to-wall connections
• Expanded secondary water resistance (SWR) verification

• FORTIFIED Home™ designations (Roof / Silver / Gold)
• Roof slope classification
• Regional wind zone designation

• Greater emphasis on sealed roof decks and SWR
• Improved classification of roof geometry and slope
• More detailed fastener and connector requirements
